MIAMI VALLEY —

Temperatures in the Miami Valley reached 92 degrees today, putting the region in position to enter its second heat wave of 2012, according to Storm Center 7 meteorologist Rich Wirdzek.

An Air Pollution Advisory was issued Wednesday for Clark, Greene, Miami and Montgomery counties.

Temperatures are expected to hit 90 degrees again tomorrow with fairly sunny skies up until the early afternoon. Due to the hot temperatures and high humidity, health experts are advising to drink plenty of water, wear sunscreen and stay indoors with air conditioning.

A cold front Thursday will bring showers and thunderstorms in toward the evening and night for parts of the Miami Valley, said News Center 7 meteorologist Erica Collura.

“I wouldn't discount an isolated strong wind or hail event with a stronger storm,” Collura said.

Friday will bring relief with slightly cooler and less humid weather expected throughout the day and weekend, Wirdzek said.

Temperatures are expected to be in the mid to low 80s into Monday.
