Staff Report

CINCINNATI —

A new casino in Cincinnati has begun accepting applications.

The first round of hiring started today for the Horseshoe Casino Cincinnati. Applications are being taken through Sept. 16.

Positions include poker dealers and other table games, supervisors and managers. Dealers and supervisors will make up the casino’s largest team.

They are being recruited first because they require the most training.

Pay for dealers will range from $35,000 to $45,000 a year, including tips. Salaries for gaming table supervisors start at about $40,000. The $400 million casino will recruit for other positions throughout the fall and early winter to round out its 1,700-member team.

Applications are available online at www.horseshoecincinnati.com.

The $400 million casino has a target opening of Spring 2013. Others have already opened in Cleveland and Toledo, and another will open in Columbus in October.

A portion of The Horseshoe Casino Cincinnati had collapsed during construction on Jan. 27, when a steel beam’s collapse caused steel corrugated flooring to fall, taking 13 construction workers to the ground with it.
