HUBER HEIGHTS —

Authorities said flames broke out for the second time in as many days at an apartment building on Fisher Drive in Huber Heights.

Firefiighters responded shortly after 6 a.m. Monday to the building, at 5776 Fisher Drive.

Flames were seen issuing out of the roof when firefighters arrived at the scene. All of the occupants managed to escape the fire without injury.

Damage to the building is estimated at $50,000 to $100,000, fire officials said.

On Sunday, flames spread from a shed to the attic of the 6-unit apartment complex. One family was displaced as their apartment was heavily damaged, fire officials said.

The Huber Heights batallion chief said it appears that an ember from the previous fire ignited the second fire.

The cause of Sunday’s fire is still under investigation.
