Hundreds without power following high winds

GREENE COUNTY —

More than 1,300 people were without power this morning as repairs were made following wind damage.

Dayton Power & Light customers received an alert stating the forced outage would occur so the repairs could be made, according to reports.

A Dayton Power and Light spokesperson said the forced outages were in the Bellbrook area after a wire came down. The wire came down around 5 a.m. west of Bellbrook, leading to an initial 175 customers without power.

Between 9 and 9:20 a.m., just over 1,300 customers were without power in Greene County as the repairs were being made.

In Montgomery County, 25 customers were without power throughout the morning as crews made repairs after a tree fell on a pole, according to the spokesperson. Power was restored by 10 a.m.

About 230 customers were without power in Clinton County as of 10:15 a.m. The cause of the outage was not immediately known.

High winds blew through the region late Monday night and into the morning.
