Federal officials are investigating at a Harrison Twp. home today, though the purpose of their search has not been revealed.

IRS spokesman Craig Casserly confirmed that the search at 3344 Catalpa Drive was part of a joint investigation by the IRS and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration. But Casserly said he could not comment further, as all documentation has been sealed in U.S. District Court. He did not know how long those documents would remain sealed.

It is common for federal courts to seal search warrants until charges are filed against a suspect.

Agents were at the home starting about 7 a.m.

News Center 7 staff on scene said there appears to be a trailer with construction supplies in the home’s driveway. Vehicles behind the home were searched, and one appears to be a work van that had new tires inside.

Agents were also removing boxes of items from the home.

At least eight law enforcement official vehicles were on scene at one point. Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office vehicles were there but left prior to 9 a.m.
