HARRISON TOWNSHIP —

Employees at Kentucky Fried Chicken on North Main Street protected themselves by hiding in the store freezer during an armed robbery Sunday night around 7:30 p.m., according to reports.

Deputies were dispatched to the restaurant, 4645 North Main St., south of Shoup Mill Road on a report of a person with a gun, wearing a mask, who had just robbed the restaurant. An employee, who saw the robbery occurring, quickly exited the back door of the store and ran to the McDonald’s restaurant just down the street to get help, according to reports.

Deputies on the scene requested a K9 unit. The K9 did track the suspect, but was unable to find the suspect.

The suspect is described as a slender black male, 5’ 8-10”, wearing blue jeans, a black hoodie and a white mask. He was reported to have ran toward the Catalpa area.

No one was reported hurt in the incident. The scene is currently under investigation.
