Legal fees mount in termination of local teacher

KETTERING, Ohio —

The legal fees are mounting in an effort to terminate a Kettering Fairmont High School English teacher.

So far, the school district has reportedly spent more than $70,000 in the last year, according to Michael Togliatti’s attorney.

Togliatti was removed from his teaching position last April for allegedly making inappropriate comments to students.

In August, he was suspended without pay. In response, he demanded a hearing.

There have been seven or eight hearings since then, and four or five more have been scheduled.
