Man, 24, accused of underage sex charge

A 24-year-old West Milton man is in the Miami County Jail on a charge accusing him of engaging in sexual conduct with a girl he met through Facebook.

Miami County sheriff's detectives arrested Derek A. Brunsveld on Friday, Chief Deputy Dave Duchak said.

Duchak said Brunsveld is a lead singer for a local band identified as Ludlow Falls.  He also said the investigation also accuses Brunsveld of using the social media website to meet and communicate with potential victims.

Brunsveld is jail in lieu of $10,000 bail, Duchak said.

Brunsveld is not listed among the five members of the band on its Facebook page, facebook.com/Ludlow.Falls, according to a check made Friday afternoon. According to the web page, the band was established in Dayton in 2011 and describes its genre as "metalcore/thrash/metal."

Detectives are asking anyone who may have information about Brunsveld and alleged conduct with girls to contact Detective Amber Mahan at (937) 440-3965, Ext. 6632. Anonymous information also can be posted on the sheriff's office website at miamicountysheriff.org.
