Man arrested for stealing bacon, pies

SPRINGFIELD —

A 40-year-old man remains housed in the Clark County Jail after he was allegedly stopped Thursday outside of the Springfield Kroger on Limestone Street with two glazed pies and two packages of bacon slices he didn’t pay for.

In addition to the misdemeanor theft charge, he was also arrested on an outstanding warrant for possessing drug paraphernalia.

According to a Springfield police report, a store employee stopped the man after he left the store without paying for the items, which were concealed in his coat. The man complied with all orders, according to the report.
