DAYTON —
A 59-year-old man remains behind bars on suspicion of felony felonious assault after police said a drunken altercation early Saturday morning led to the man’s roommate being cut with a knife.
John C. Goldick Jr. was arrested at about 1:10 a.m. at 113 Kiser St. and was booked into the Montgomery County Jail. He is scheduled to be in court on Jan. 28, according to jail records.
A Dayton police incident report states that officers were sent to the Kiser Street residence after receiving word of a stabbing. A man who lives at the residence had been cut, allegedly, by Goldick.
Goldick told police he and his roommate were “just playing around” when and he accidentally cut him with a knife. He then said that his roommate attacked him with a stick, but police were unable to find a stick in the residence.
The roommate said they were both sitting in a living room watching TV when Goldick showed a knife and started acting out “martial arts” moves, according to the report. The roommate was cut on the back of his neck and also on a wrist. After he was cut, the victim told police he fled to the kitchen to get a knife for himself. He then called 911.
Medical personnel looked over the roommate and found “all of his injuries were superficial and hospital (treatment) would not be (required),” according to the report.
The roommate accused Goldick of being drunk during the incident.
