DAYTON —
A 51-year-old man has pleaded guilty to charges of robbery and involuntary manslaughter in the 2006 death of a Harrison Twp. man.
Benny Paul Harper pleaded guilty Monday in county Common Pleas Court to charges stemming from Craig Gober's death, the Montgomery County Prosecutor's Office said Tuesday.
Gober, 38, was hit in the head with a firearm by Harper outside Gober's home in September 2006, according to the prosecutor's office. Harper then robbed Gober before leaving the scene.
Gober, found by his girlfriend the next day, died Oct. 4, 2006, after he was placed in a medically-induced coma.
Harper pleaded guilty to one count of involuntary manslaughter, two counts of felonious assault, and single counts of aggravated robbery and having a weapon as a felon.
Harper, whom Prosecutor Mat Heck said has been in out of prison since the 1980s, is to be sentenced July 10.
