Man pleads not guilty after drugs found at crash scene

A West Milton-area man pleaded not guilty to charges of trafficking in drugs and possession of criminal tools Monday in a Miami County courtroom.

The charges against Michael Mowery were the result of a traffic crash last month on State Route 48 near Pleasant Hill.

At the crash scene, deputies said they found marijuana in his car.  The next day, detectives entered Mowery's home on a search warrant and seized more suspected marijuana, a set of scales and more than $5,000 in cash.

Mowery continues free on bond awaiting trial.
