Gunfire in Trotwood hits man in lower back

Staff Report

TROTWOOD —

Police are investigating a shooting Thursday night that sent one man to a hospital and caused police to fan out in a neighborhood looking for exactly where the incident occurred.

Trotwood police said one man was shot in the lower back and taken to Miami Valley Hospital, but they had no details about his condition. He was conscious at the scene and in a lot of pain, police said.

Police were dispatched at about 10:30 p.m. to the 5500 block of Autumn Woods Drive on a report of man who had been shot and was found lying in the street.

Sgt. Brent Rasor said police do not know exactly where the shooting took place and did not initially have any descriptions of possible suspects.

“We have an officer at the hospital right now following up with the victim,” he said shortly before 11:30 p.m.
