DAYTON —

A 53-year-old man reported being beaten unconscious and robbed Wednesday of his car, his debit card and approximately 20 bottles of prescription drugs.

The incident occurred at about 3 a.m. in the 1200 block of Jett Avenue, according to a Dayton police incident report.

The victim told police he was driving a white 1998 Chevrolet Malibu from Stewart Street to Nicholas Road when he realized he was being followed by a dark green Buick Skylark that was full of people, according to the report.

The victim told police he pulled over on Jett Avenue and got out of his car to confront his followers.

Two males armed with handguns got out of the Skylark and punched, kicked and pistol-whipped the victim, who suffered swelling about the face and head and possible injuries to his torso, police said.

The suspects, along with three females described as being 18, took the man's car, which contained an estimated 20 bottles of prescription medication, as well as debit and Veterans Administration cards, police said.

The victim was treated and released from Miami Valley Hospital. The vehicle was located in the 900 block of Edison Avenue. The drugs and other items were not recovered.
