MIDDLETOWN, Butler County —

Officers responded to an armed robbery on North Grimes Street, and when police arrived the suspect tried to run, throwing his weapon in the process, according to the Middletown Division of Police.

Chad Wright, 30, of Middletown, took off running on foot after he pointed a loaded handgun at the victim. Wright stole cash from the victim, according to a release.

The incident occurred outside a home at 116 N. Grimes around 7:40 p.m. Tuesday. When the first officers arrived on the scene, they noticed Wright walking away from the crime scene.
