Memorial fund set up for crash victim

Staff Report

TROY —

The family of a 49-year-old man killed Tuesday afternoon in a two-vehicle collision at Ohio 235 and Ohio 41 has started a memorial fund to help defray the cost of his burial and services.

The fund for Tracy Walkup, of Tipp City, has been established at any Unity Bank in Troy and/or Tipp City, according to a family friend.

Visitation is 4 to 6 p.m. Monday at the Troy First Church of the Nazarene, 1200 Barnhart Road. The funeral is to follow at 6 p.m.

Walkup was driving a Ford Contour that collided at the intersection with a Jeep Cherokee driven by Joshua McDaniel, 21, of New Carlisle, according to the Ohio Highway Patrol.

A preliminary investigation by the patrol determined that McDaniel likely was at fault, according to Lt. Matthew Cleaveland, Springfield post commander.
