Men arrested in Kettering church shed theft

Two men have been arrested for breaking into the shed of a local church.

David C. Jones, 48, and James Griffie, Jr., 41, both of Dayton, were arrested Oct. 18. Police said the pair loaded lawn equipment into a pickup truck at Oak Creek Worship Center, 4800 Bigger Road. A neighbor saw them and called the Kettering Public Safety Communications Center.

The suspects were stopped near the intersection of East David and Bigger roads. Police said one of the suspects was found with a piece of the shed’s lock in his pocket. They were in possession of a riding mower and push lawn mower as well.

The men are charged with felony theft and breaking and entering. They are in the Montgomery County Jail.
