GERMANTOWN —
An 80-year-old Oakwood woman, for whom an endangered missing adult alert was issued earlier Thursday evening, is safe and has been released to family, Oakwood police said.
Ellen Gleason was found sometime between 10:36 p.m. and 11 p.m. in the 700 block of East Market Street, Lt. Keith Benson said.
Gleason suffers from Alzheimer’s and was without her medication.
She was reported to be driving a tan 2001 Toyota and was last seen Wednesday, pulling out of her driveway at about 8 a.m.
Police were following “pings” off her cell phone.
News Center 7 learned that police pinged her phone just after 10 p.m. that led them to a McDonald’s, 3918 Free Pike.
A second ping was picked up on southbound Dayton-Germantown Road at about 10:29 p.m.
The third ping registered on East Market Street, Benson said.
