A heated conversation between Monroe's city manager and vice mayor turned physical Tuesday, according to police.

City Manager William Brock told police that Vice Mayor Bob Kelley "moved into his personal space and poked him in the chest" and threatened his job at about 9:30 a.m. at the Monroe City Building after a discussion became more intense, according to a police report.

Brock told police he felt physically threatened by Kelley's alleged actions and reportedly told the vice mayor, "Don't ever touch me again."

Kelley then allegedly threatened Brock's job and the incident ended soon after, according to the police report.

Brock could not be reached for comment and Kelley declined to comment about the incident, nor would he say what the discussion was about. According to the police report, the discussion was over city business.

Mayor Bob Routson also could not be reached for comment.

No charges have been filed, according to the report. Brock told police he wanted the incident documented.
