Mother cited after child attempts to drink gasoline

Last week, a 3-year-old girl was taken to a local hospital after she drank or attempted to drink gasoline from a gas can in the family's SUV.

Now, police in Piqua have cited the child's mother with first-degree misdemeanor of child endangering. The woman was identified as Julia Hoelscher of South Downing Street, where the incident happened.

The child is OK, police said.
