DAYTON —

One person was taken to the hospital, with life-threatening injuries, after a motorcycle crash at the intersection of South Patterson Boulevard and West Stewart Street Thursday morning.

Witnesses told police the man was driving his motorcycle at a high rate of speed when he attempted to beat a traffic light at the intersection.  The man lost control, hitting a curb and flipping the motorcycle, according to Sgt. Damon Castor with the Dayton Police Department.

The victim was transported to Miami Valley Hospital.

Southbound Patterson Boulevard remains closed at Stewart Street while police investigate the wreck.
