Staff Report
SPRINGFIELD, Ohio —
One person is dead after an accident Saturday night at South Yellow Springs Street and West High Street involving a motorcycle.
Tracy Griffin of New Carlisle and her 10-year-old daughter Taylor were in a truck behind the motorcycle on West High Street. She said a man and woman were on the motorcycle in front of them.
She said that another truck coming the wrong way on High Street ran over the motorcycle, and then hit her truck. She said the truck driver tried to leave the scene, but she and some other people went up and stopped the driver. Griffin believed the man was intoxicated. He was arrested.
Griffin said she tried to comfort her daughter, and the woman who had been on the motorcycle.
Griffin said her daughter suffered a shoulder injury and was treated and released from Springfield Regional Medical Center.
The suspect and the victim have not yet been identified. No word yet on charges.
The intersection was closed most of Saturday night.
