A neighbor alerted the residents of a home on Richmar Drive Tuesday, July 3, 2012, after seeing flames on the range home.

BEAVERCREEK, Ohio —

Neighbors helped a family escape a house fire Tuesday afternoon, authorities said.

Firefighters were dispatched to the home in the 2500 block of Richmar Drive on a report of a fire in the attic.

No one was injured in the fire, but that might not have been the case if notfor fast-acting neighbors. A Beavercreek fire official told News Center 7 that the neighbors woke up the residents after seeing flames on the ranch home.

They then turned hoses on to douse the flames, which probably saved a large portion of the home, the official said.

Damage to the house was not immediately known.
