Numerous phones taken during break-in

Staff Report

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio —

More than $500 worth of cell phones were stolen from the Wireless Store on East Main Street early Wednesday morning, according to police reports.

Officers responded to the store, 1609 East Main Street, around midnight after a witness saw two suspicious men in the area.  When police arrived they discovered the front door of the business busted out by a rock.

The thieves reportedly fled the scene on foot and a K-9 unit was called to the scene, but the thieves were never located.

Security cameras were located inside the business, but were not operating properly, according to the police report.
