MONROE —

A Middletown off-duty firefighter was flown to a Cincinnati hospital following a one-vehicle accident this morning on Ohio 4.

The firefighter’s family didn’t want his name released this afternoon, said Chris Klug, vice president of the Middletown Professional Fire Fighters Local 336. Klug said he’s at the hospital with the firefighter and his family.

He said the firefighter sustained bumps and bruises, but no broken bones in the accident. He was told by doctors that the firefighter may be released from University of Cincinnati Hospital later tonight.

Klug said the firefighter, who lives in Trenton, was driving from his home to the Tractor Supply Company on Ohio 4 when he wrecked. The firefighter was alone in his vehicle and the only one involved in the accident. He doesn’t remember the accident, Klug said.

Liberty Twp. medic units were called for mutual aid and the helicopter landed at the former Americana Amusement Park.
