One person killed Saturday on U.S. 40

WAYNE COUNTY, Ind. —

One person is dead and another was taken by CareFlight to a local hospital after a head-on crash in Wayne County on Saturday.

Melanie Holthouse, 48, was killed after her truck collided with another truck. The second vehicle was driven by 25-year-old Troy Davis. The Richmond Palladium-Item has reported Davis’ vehicle went left of center and struck the front of Holthouse’s truck.

Davis was listed in fair condition Sunday evening at Miami Valley Hospital.

The crash happened around 5 p.m. Saturday on U.S. 40 in Mount Alburn.

Deputies are still investigating the cause of a crash and have yet to determine if any charges will be filed against Davis.
