TROY, Ohio —

A truck driver from Piqua was not seriously injured after overturning his vehicle on Interstate 75 Tuesday morning.

Emergency crews and troopers responded around 8:30 a.m. to the crash, which occurred near the the Ohio 55 exit on I-75 north.

The driver was trapped under the steering wheel after overturning the truck.  A tire on the truck exploded and caused the driver to lose control, troopers said.  Crews were able to free the driver and he was not seriously injured, OSP said. He was taken to the Upper Valley Medical Center.

The truck was well off the highway but the right lane was blocked for a period of time as emergency crews responded to the scene. Traffic is now back to normal, according to OSP.

The crash remains under investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol Piqua post.
