Police get a mixed bag from OVI checkpoint

DAYTON, Ohio —

Police checked 700 vehicles through an OVI checkpoint Saturday night on North Gettysburg Avenue.  Thirty-nine vehicles were diverted. 

They issued citations for seven OVIs.  They charged one driver with Child Endangering from an OVI arrest. They said there were two children in the car.

Three drivers were cited for not having a driver’s license.

Two adults and 14 children were in violation of the seat belt law. 

Officers made one felony drug arrest, and confiscated nine capsules of heroin.  

The checkpoint ran from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday.
