Staff Report
DAYTON —
The Dayton SWAT team aided police in serving a drug warrant at a house Thursday evening, which resulted in one arrest.
Sgt. John Sullivan with the Dayton police drug unit said an investigation into drug complaints at 1306 Danner revealed that a suspect was dealing drugs out of the home and that he was usually armed with a gun during transactions.
“We enlisted the help of the SWAT team to serve a warrant based upon the information that the drug dealer was always armed,” Sullivan said.
David Black Jr. was taken into custody without incident.
Police were still searching the house at 9:30 p.m. but had already recovered a “decent amount” of drugs and at least one weapon. Sullivan did not elaborate on the amount or types of drugs recovered.
Police credited concerned citizens in the neighborhood with providing information that launched the investigation.
Sullivan said Black will be taken to the Montgomery County Jail and will likely be charged with possession of drugs in addition to possible weapons charges.
