Police: Truck backs into drive-thru to break in

DAYTON —

Police are searching for two men who reportedly rammed a red pickup truck into the overhead door at Zip Thru Beer & Wine in Dayton and then stole several cartons of Marlboro cigarettes and Black and Mild cigars.

According to a Dayton police report, officers responded to the drive thru Sunday around 5 a.m. An employee of the business, which is located at 1404 Patterson Rd., was contacted and provided police with surveillance footage. It showed a small red truck back into the overhead door. Two men climbed under the door to steal the cigarettes and some change before crawling back out and fleeing the scene.

The incident remains under investigation.
