Man found in pool in Huber Heights has died

Staff Report

HUBER HEIGHTS, Montgomery County —

A man found in a swimming pool Wednesday night in the 5000 block of Charlesgate Road has died, News Center 7 has learned.

Police and fire rescue units were dispatched to the address at about 9:14 p.m. on a report of a possible drowning.

Huber Heights police Sgt. William Dulaney told News Center 7 that the family went out for the evening and returned to find the man, believed to be in his 70s, in the pool.

The gentleman's family found him in the swimming pool in the back yard. They had removed him from the pool before police and rescue units arrived, Dulaney said.

"At this point, we have a male that was found in the swimming pool. We don't see anything that is suspicious," Dulaney said, noting that the Montgomery County Coroner's Office had an investigator on scene and police would be interviewing neighbors and the family members who found the man.
