Semi catches fire on I-75 in Franklin

By News Staff

A fire to a semi-tractor trailer in Interstate 75 this morning caused traffic to be blocked.

The call for help was made around 10:50 a.m. today after passersbys called about the fire on the southbound side of the interstate.

The cab of the truck was engulfed in flames, according to reports.

No one was injured. Officials said the driver, who is from Tennessee, had stopped in Dayton Monday night to have the semi inspected and repaired. The fire is believed to have started in the fuel line.

The incident caused the right two lanes of the interstate to be blocked.
