Showers, chilly weather on the way

MIAMI VALLEY —

A weather system from the south is expected to bring rain to the Miami Valley through this evening and overnight as skies will remain cloudy and temperatures will remain mild with lows in the mid 50s, Storm Center 7 Meteorologist Eria Collura said.

Showers, intermittent through Tuesday with temperatures in the low 70s, might include a thunderstorm in the afternoon. The sunnier the skies, the better chance for storms, said Collura, and those storms have a slight chance of becoming strong with hail and wind.

For Wednesday, there is a chance for a few more spotty showers before the Miami Valley will see a warm up of temperatures into the mid 70s. A cold front is coming for Friday that will bring some showers and about a 20-degree drop in temperatures from Thursday, said Collura.
