DAYTON —
Dayton police have released composite sketches of two men accused of forcing their way into the home of an 86-year-old woman in September. Wearing suits, they identified themselves as Dayton police officers and even showed a silver badge before stealing more than $200 cash and a handgun from the woman’s residence.
The first suspect (with glasses) is described as a black male, between 50 and 55 years of age, about 5-feet-9-inches tall. The suspect reportedly has a medium build.
The second suspect is described as a black male, between 40 and 45 years of age, roughly 6 feet tall and thin.
The two left the house in a light blue sedan, possibly a Buick Lesabre.
The incident happened Sept. 27 on the 500 block of Smith Street. The men reportedly stated they were looking for the woman’s granddaughter.
The woman initially refused to let the men inside. They came back later with what they said was a search warrant and then they searched her house. They left with about $225 and a .22 revolver when a neighbor came over.
Anyone with any information is asked to call Dayton police at (937) 333-COPS.
