Taxi cab driver injured in I-675 crash

One person was injured Sunday night in an accident on southbound I-675 that left a vehicle on fire.

BEAVERCREEK, Ohio —

Authorities said one person was injured Sunday night in a crash on southbound Interstate 675 near Shakertown Road.

Police said the driver of a taxi cab hit the rear of a tractor-trailer. The driver of the truck said that he felt a bump, and then looked around and saw the taxi on fire.

Officers said the taxi driver was able to get out of the vehicle just before it engulfed in flame. The driver was taken to Miami Valley Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Two people in the tractor-trailer were not hurt, police said.

The three lanes of southbound I-675 were closed near Shakertown Road, but police were allowing traffic to pass the crash scene on the berm.

All lanes were reopened by 2:45 a.m. Monday.
