Alzheimer’s patient, found near Troy, is OK

Staff Report

SPRINGFIELD —

A Clark County woman who suffers from Alzheimer’s disease, who was reported missing Monday afternoon, has been found just west of Troy.

Kay Collier had run out of gas near North Forrest Hill Road and Ohio 41 when a Miami County sheriff’s deputy found her and her Buick LeSabre on Monday evening, Springfield police Sgt. Dan Harris said.

She was a little disoriented but otherwise in good shape, Harris said.

Collier had dropped her husband off at a doctor’s office on Middle Urbana Road and waited in the car for him, Harris said. When her husband came out of the doctor’s office, his wife and the car were gone.

That prompted the police division, along with the Clark County Sheriff’s Office, to issue an alert to the community about Collier, who is in her 70s.

Collier’s son has been notified and will pick up his mother from the sheriff’s office in Miami county, Harris said.
