DAYTON —

A Summit Academy student has been suspended for making threats against the school, police said Thursday.

Police were called to the school, 1407 E. Third St., at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday on allegations that a 15-year-old student threatened to burn down the building.

According to reports, the director of the school, Gary Miller, said the teen went to the office Wednesday morning after going into an "angry rage."  She has allegedly displayed anger episodes in the past.

While in the office, a school secretary brought a notebook belonging to the teen to Miller’s attention.  It had the following poem lyrics inside it:

Burn to the ground Summit Academy, burn to the ground.

We won't miss this hell hole, no we won't.

We left a couple students behind in the classes.

That's what they get with they stupid asses. (sic)

We left Mr. Miller to burn.

He has got to learn.

No one likes him enough to save him.

Miller said that because of her previous anger problems, he told police he was "concerned for the welfare of the school, students and staff."

Police asked the girl why she would make such a threat to the school. According to a police report, she told them she used to like the school but doesn't now.  She said the letter was just a poem she wrote when she got mad one day.  Then she said it was a song she wrote with another student.

The school suspended her for seven days, but the police report indicated that the school’s office in Columbus wanted to pursue criminal charges as well.

The girl was booked into the Montgomery County Juvenile Justice Center and faces possiblecharges of aggravated menacing.

Officials at the school declined comment.
