Suspect hits armed robbery victim with gun

DAYTON —

A 36-year-old man was victim to a robbery this week in the area of Main Street at Mary Avenue in Dayton.

The man told police he was on his way to a pizza store on Wednesday in the area and was approached by a black male wearing all black with a red ball cap.

The suspect told the victim to lie on the ground and empty out his pockets and hand over his wallet, according to the police report. The suspect then pulled out a gun and continued to make the same threats.

The victim pulled out his wallet and then was struck in the face by the suspect’s gun, the report said. The suspect picked up the man’s wallet and instructed him to start running.

The victim ran home and called police later that evening. The man stated he would not be able to identify the suspect because his face was covered.

He also said the suspect is about 5’ 7” and weighs about 180 pounds.

The victim received a severe injury to the right side of his mouth due to the blow from the suspect’s gun. He was taken to Miami Valley Hospital.

No arrest has been made.
