DAYTON —
A fire Monday night in a garage, where crews found a stolen vehicle, has been ruled arson.
No one was hurt in the fire, which was at 128 S. McGee St. in Dayton. The fire did about $6,000 in damage, according to Assistant Fire Chief Jeffrey Payne.
Investigators have a suspect in connection with the arson but have not made any arrests, according to Payne.
That person is not being publicly identified.
Fire crews were dispatched to the fire at about 10 p.m. It was declared under control at about 10:27 p.m.
The fire reportedly started in a pile of trash beside the garage. Flames spread up the side of the structure and into the roof, compromising overhead utility wires as well.
There was no other immediate information about the vehicle, which fire officials said came up as stolen when fire crews ran information about the vehicle in their computers.
