70s to continue at least through Friday

MIAMI VALLEY —

The Miami Valley should remain dry through the rest of today as rain has exited the far north after leaving a half-inch of precipitation across Mercer and Auglaize counties, Storm Center 7 Chief Meteorologist Jamie Simpson said.

Fairly cloudy skies will remain in the Miami Valley tonight as a few more showers move through early Wednesday morning.

By sunrise, the clouds will be gone and temperatures will reach the upper 50s. It will be sunny through midday Wednesday and stay that way into the afternoon as temperatures reach the upper 70s.

Thursday will be sunny with highs again in the upper 70s. Clouds will be thick early Friday and rain arrives through midday and into the afternoon. Rain will be steady at times and will continue Friday night into Saturday morning, said Simpson.

Saturday, rain is likely to end by the middle part of the day with some sun possible by the end of the day.

“A big cool down occurs with this system,” said Simpson. Friday’s highs will be in the mid 60s, then only in the low 50s on Saturday. Sunday will be sunny but chilly, starting at about 32, and probably only reaching into the upper 40s in the afternoon.
