Threat found at Harrison Twp. charter school

By Breaking News Staff

HARRISON TWP. —

Montgomery County sheriff’s deputies responded to a Harrison Twp. charter school Friday morning after receiving word of a threat scrawled across the wall of a girl’s bathroom the day before.

Deputies said nothing was out of order this morning at Horizon High School. Four cruisers could be seen outside of the school, which enrolls approximately 300 students.

After discovering the threat, school officials placed automated phone calls to parents, notifying them of the threat but that nothing substantial was found and the day will continue as planned.

Pictures were taken of the handwriting and an analysis will be performed. Video surveillance is being examined.

There have been a number of recent school threats — two separate incidents at Tippecanoe High School recently made headlines — and officials at Horizon said the threat found on Thursday likely had copycat intentions.
