DP&L: Most back on line after earlier problems

Staff Report

A problem with a transformer caused Dayton Power and Light customers in the Bellbrook and Sugarcreek Township areas to lose power Sunday.

DP&L crews had to temporarily turn off power to about 2,400 customers in the area of Wilmington Pike and Ohio 725 in order to isolate the problem, according to DP&L spokesman Tom Tatham.

He said 191 customers remained without power at 7 p.m. and crews were working to restore power to those customers quickly. Tatham said the transformer needed to be replaced.

Sugarcreek Township Fire Chief Randall Pavlak said 18 businesses in the area were affected by the outages.

By 10:00 p.m. Sunday, only 38 customers remained without power. Thirty of those customers were in Greene County. Eight were in Montgomery County.
