TROY —

Police have identified an 18-year-old man as the suspect in the robbery at a Valero gas station early Thursday.

Authorities believe Kody Francis entered the gas station, 322 W. Market St., at about 12:40 a.m., Troy Capt. Christopher E. Anderson said Friday evening.

Armed with a black handgun, possibly a pistol, Francis allegedly stole cash from the business.

Francis is described as about 5 feet 6 inches tall, 140 pounds with blond hair and blue eyes.

According to Detective Chris Tilley, several witnesses on Thursday saw the robber leave the store running toward Peters Avenue, which is behind the business.

Surveillance video showed the store clerk giving the armed man cash.

Anyone with information about Francis’ whereabouts is asked to contact police at (937) 339-7525.
