Troy Kroger employee saves customer from scam

TROY, Ohio —

A five-year employee of the Kroger Store in Troy was honored Wednesday morning for her efforts to prevent a grandmother from being scammed thousands of dollars.

She was attempting to send the bail money by Western Union to her grandson who claimed he was in jail and needed the money to get out.

Bobbie Harvey said it took her thirty minutes to convince the "garndma" her grandson was fine and she was about to get scammed.

AG Mike Dewine was there to present Harvey with a Certificate of Service. DeWine said that scam happenes here in Ohio daily.
