DAYTON —

Students from the University of Dayton are headed to Washington D.C. to meet with alumni.

While there, the student plan to meet with local politicians and possibly Speaker of the House John Boehner.

The students are part of the college’s political science department. They left today.

“Our hope is that they can explore internships to seek career opportunities there in the Capitol,” said Dr. Jason Pierce, professor.

“It will certainly be a high-stakes time to be there,” he said, referring to the sequestration talks taking place among leaders.
