Victim identified in fatal Urbana crash

URBANA —

Urbana police investigate fatal crashOne man is dead and a woman seriously injured following a head-on crash that occurred on East U.S. 36 early Sunday afternoon, according to Urbana police.

Two medical helicopters responded around 1:04 p.m. to the two-vehicle crash in front of Walmart, just west of Lippencott Lane, according to the release from Urbana police Chief Matt D. Lingrell.

Mark Davisson, 58, of Urbana, was the lone occupant of his vehicle. He was taken by CareFlight to Miami Valley Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to the release.

Eileen Mossbarger, 77, who was an occupant in the other vehicle, was taken by Medflight to Columbus Grant Hospital for treatment of serious injuries, according to the release.

Her husband, Howard Mossbarger, 81, was treated and released at Urbana Mercy Hospital.

Police said they determined that the vehicle, driven by Davission, was traveling westbound on Route 68 when for an undetermined reason, it crossed over the center line and crashed head-on into the eastbound vehicle driven by Howard Mossbarger.

Davisson will have an autopsy done to determine what caused his death.

The crash remains under investigation.
