Widespread rain returns to Miami Valley

Much needed rain has finally fallen over part of the Miami Valley.

Occasional showers are expected to cross over the area through the afternoon after the area south of Interstate 70 saw a sprinkling of rain Saturday morning, Storm Center 7 Meteorologist Erica Collura said.

The band of showers stretching from sourthern Indiana to central Ohio is classified as "light to moderate", Collura said.  The line of rain is expected to progress north.

"You can probably draw and line from Eaton, north and east to Troy and Bellefontaine," Collura said.  "Everywhere south of the line has the better chance for rain."

The northwest portion of the Miami Valley has a small chance of seeing rain in the late afternoon and early evening.

Chances for rain continue tomorrow afternoon as scattered showers and thunderstorms will develop with warmer temperatures in the upper 80s, Collura said.
