Window broken, cash stolen from restaurant

DAYTON —

Police are trying to identify the individuals who broke into the Subway restaurant, 45 S. Main St., at about 10:30 p.m. Tuesday.

According to a Dayton police incident report, someone dislodged the lower portion of a City of Dayton light pole and used it to break out the front window of the restaurant. Stolen was a change dispenser and about $350 in cash.

Police responded to a call about the restaurant’s alarm going off.

A witness reportedly heard some people at the nearby RTA hub bragging about the theft, according to the report. Police are checking the hub’s surveillance video to see if they can identify those individuals.
