DAYTON —
A dual investigation at a Linden Avenue home Tuesday involving children services and animal control has resulted in six cats being euthanized.
Dayton police were dispatched to Linden Avenue late Tuesday afternoon on a child welfare investigation. The Montgomery County Animal Resource Center was called when police discovered animal feces throughout the home as well as several dogs, cats and birds, according to ARC Director Mark Kumpf.
On Wednesday, Kumpf said 30 animals, including 23 cats, three dogs and four birds were seized from the home. Six of the cats have been euthanized - one suffering from head trauma and another suffering from eye infections, he said.
āIām glad there was only a limited number in that kind of shape. We hope the remaining cats and dogs and birds will be adopted out,ā Kumpf said.
Elizabeth Robbins, 28, was detained at the Montgomery County Jail on charges of child endangerment and obstruction. The child is believed to be 2 years old.
