Staff Report
Two men told Dayton police a casual evening on the 3700 block of E. Fourth Street turned violent Sunday night after they invited two women they didn’t know into their residence.
Police responded to the residence around midnight on Monday. According to a Dayton police report, a 46-year-old man told officers he and a friend were drinking beer and socializing when two women entered his residence and began drinking with them. When the women were asked to leave 45 minutes later, he said they pulled a hammer and knife. They then forced the man to the floor.
While on the floor, one woman used the knife to keep him down and then rooted through his front pocket and stole $400 in cash, the man told police. Meanwhile, the second woman was outside starting their vehicle. It was described as a large green van.
The man said the van left without the woman who held him down with a knife. She fled on foot and he started to chase her however she eventually escaped capture.
No arrests were made. The investigation is ongoing.
